Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate and described the effects of using flashcard media in teaching vocabulary for children in a reading, writing, and numeric course. The kind of research employs descriptive qualitative approaches. This study includes explanations and descriptions that I used when I taught. The goal of this study analyzed how I taught vocabulary for children in reading, writing, and numeric classes by using flashcard media. My personal experience as the subject of a descriptive qualitative study. Considering that my autobiography was the topic of the study, a narrative inquiry method was adopted. The results of this study explained that my experience in adding vocabulary material in teaching children who take courses in reading, writing, and numeric has played an important role in introducing and increasing knowledge of new vocabulary. Flashcards are a simple media for teaching vocabulary. Children can recognize and memorize vocabulary easily. Researchers concluded that flashcards are the simple media that are recommended to be used as media in teaching vocabulary.
